making new look old.

Even though we will be doing extensive renovations (down to the foundation--it's really more of a rebuild) on the house we are buying, it is still really important to us that we make it look "real."  Like when people drive by or walk through they can't tell for sure if it has all been redone because it looks like it could have possibly been built that way originally.

So I have been on the look out for lots of beautiful vintage details we can incorporate.  I always love the work of Miles Redd--so many times when I am loving some pages from a magazine, I'll look at the designer and. . . oh surprise, surprise, its Miles Redd.

 {love everything here: the bench built-in, the mix of black + white doors, the paneled ceiling, the flagstone floor}

 {even though I am usually all for white, I am really loving this black mantle}

 {love the rustic wood beams on the ceiling paired with the white wood paneling on the walls}

{love the transoms above the doorways. must have those, the lights, the style of the cupboard doors}
