rockin the suburbs

Ben Folds probably had something different in mind as he was singing those words, but this is how we rock the suburbs around here. First, have the kids gather up a bunch of different sized rocks. Next, paint the rocks (we used acrylic/craft paints). We used paint brushes and toothpicks--to paint finer lines. After they dry, you can hot glue gun the little rocks (paws, head, tails) to the big rocks. Or I guess you could glue them first, but we are always very anxious to get to the fun (messy) parts around here.

The kids LOVED this and dinner was delayed for an hour because I was pretty into it too. Do you see that haunted house rock and race car? Yea, those were mine.
