a music lover am i
I think music flows through my veins instead of blood. Well, perhaps that is a little dramatic, but I thought of it last night as I was making cookies listening to my newly updated ipod, and just had to get it out. The point is I do love a good song and I have been taught well by my dad who just happens to have exquisite taste in music.A few interesting facts:
1. My dad was a dj when he and my mom were expecting me and there was an on air contest to see who could guess my birth weight
2. I was the best weed picker in our family weeding contest (oh, that hill) and got to see my first live concert when i was nine years old--which was the beach boys
3. My sisters and I spent every Friday night in the room above the garage singing into wooden spoons while dancing on the beds, performing all the songs on the radio or our fave CD (the tradition lives on girls)
4. In junior high and high school I got to go to lots and lots of concerts for free and hang out backstage too because of my dad's cool jobs owning and managing radio stations (which made me feel super cool)
5. Jimmy got me an awesome little contraption that I can stick my ipod into, that I keep in the kitchen (right next to the wooden spoons) so that me and the children can rock out while preparing all the meals and cleaning the downstairs
6. When we go on our sisters trip every year, we bring our own karaoke machine and cristelle leads us in some funkalicious dance moves while the rest of us try to keep up as her back up singers
So since I finally updated my ipod--the first time in about a year (wow, those 32 songs were getting old) I thought I'd share my top five:ventura highway by America
sunday best by Augustana
still fighting it by Ben Folds Five
blame it on me by Barenaked Ladies
blue eyes by Cary Brothers
fall at your feet by Crowded House
Well that is actually six and I only got through the a, b and c artists. Too many good ones. I guess I have exquisite taste too. Ha. . . Ha.
