the world is a playground.

So I've been feeling a little lost and blue the last few days.  But as I was being a little dramatic and emotional with Jimmy this morning, we decided that we need to embrace the moment.

It is a different place than we've been, but there are so many good things about the moment we are in right now.  And when the sky is blue (like it is right now), I remember: why yes, this is exactly what I wanted.  A smaller home on a tree-lined street where I could walk to pick up my kids from school.

Yes, it has been topping out at 25 degrees lately, which has put a bit of a damper of that whole walking-everywhere daydream.  Yes, this wicked (as in bad wicked) gastrointestinal virus that is circulating through the kids, is getting pretty lame.

However.

The good things about this moment:
1. Since we sold our home, we are completely debt-free.  Can I get a hallelujah?  They aren't exaggerating--it does feel as good as all those Dave Ramsey folk say it does.
2. We are living in a beautiful city with libraries and restaurants and shops all within walking distance.  And lots of big trees.  Did I mention those?
3.  The sky is blue today.  That one was worth reiterating.
4.  We don't have the financial or time burden of maintaining a large home and yard--and huge snowy driveway.  Not to mention the anxiety episodes I would have, driving down that huge snowy driveway.  Getting one just thinking about it.
5.  The kids still think we are awesome and love to be home with us.
6.  No one has thrown-up today.

So yes, the world is a playground and I am ready to play.  I just needed to remember that today.  And now I am going to be framing this print and hanging it in my mudroom to remind me.  I hope you are having a happy, playful day.
