an old lunch pail.
One of these days I will take some long shots of our new living spaces (after I get the curtains all up), but for now, how about a close-up?!
One of the good things about moving is that all your accessories end up in new spaces. So it kind of feels like you got a bunch of new things.
And you know, if you wanted to give your rooms a new look without spending any money, you could gather up all your accessories from the bedrooms, family room, bathrooms, etc. and put them all on the kitchen table area, and pull new little arrangements.
Just do it on a day when you've got a few hours to devote to it. Otherwise you might be eating around all your trinkets for awhile.
Anyway, the red berries pictured above were from the music room in our last house, the white metal basket from ava's room, the old tin lunch pail was down in the basement (i had never even seen it before. . . And that is a good commentary on the state of our basement in our last home.)
Jimmy was headed over to the throw out pile with it, when I said, "Hey, what's that?"
"Oh it's my dad's old lunch pail."
Hello!!! Nooo. Oh no. We do not throw tin lunch pails away (especially when--you can't see this part in the picture--they have the owners name painted in little red letters on the side. so deliciously vintage.)
Happily it has now found a new home.
