my boys room.

This was the first room we finished after moving into our home.  And oh boy, there have been lots of good memories made here!  The beds have been rearranged (and covered in 5000 blankets) to become Harry Potter trains, "tear drop" trailers, F-16's, polar bear caves and much, much more.

Jimmy and I have severely injured our toes and feet on legos, tinkertoys and lincoln logs during our late night checks on the boys.  I have begged, pleaded and bribed the boys to please not use tape on everything they own.   "NO you cannot use tape to get a blanket to stay in place for your fort... even a whole roll."  So instead they have used piles and piles of books to keep those blankets in the right spot.

The boys are thrilled to be getting a smaller room in the next house because it means they finally get a bunk bed.  And I thought it took a long time for them to fall asleep in the set-up they've got now.  I probably should begin praying for patience right now.

But since bunk beds are a comin', these beds will both be sold at our furniture sale on Saturday.  And since we will be taking their new room in a new direction, we will also be parting with the airplane art, the bedding, the dresser, the yellow stars and the flying airplanes.

Sorry so many of the pictures are kind of blurry--this room doesn't have a ton of natural light.  That's why we decided to install the wainscot to help brighten it up a bit.  It worked wonders, and is a great trick for brightening a darker room.

And I need to mention the source for the adorable frames on the dresser... one of my favorite vendors from Piper & Chloe: Melissa from Hollyhocks and Honeybees.  I just love them!
