dressing up the messy bun.

Remember when I used to love making hair clips?  Way back when.  Three months ago.  Well, since Ava will rarely wear them, it sort of has put a damper on this desire.  

But I still think they are super cute, so they still get used sometimes (dressing up that messy bun of mine. Or Ashlyns. Or one of Ava's little crocheted hats.)

And there is a group of 11-year old girls in our ward congregation that are really excited about learning how to make some hair clips of their own.  So their activity days leader (activity days is a weekly activity/class held for 8-11 year old girls) asked me to teach a little class on making hair clips.

I used to love these classes when I was little, except they were called Merry Miss back then.  (And incidentally, I like that name much better.) We would go swimming or make homemade taffy or have daddy daughter dates. (Love you dad :)

And back to the hair clips.  Maybe I should write up a little tutorial in case any of you (or your kids) want to do a handmade Christmas gift???  The "handmade gift for brother or sister" is included in our Christmas Adventures again this year, and we get to choose our first adventure tomorrow!!!

The excitement is mounting....

But for now I must go clean out some more closets and cupboards.  We closed on the sell of our house yesterday.  And a few tears were shed.
