summertime party.

My mom throws the best "school's out" celebration parties each summer for all the grandkids.  They get sooo excited when they receive their invitation in the mail early each summer!  

On party day it started out chilly, but the sun made a happy appearance long enough for water balloons, and other fun backyard games, like floating plastic balls down the stream (an impromptu game created by ty that was enjoyed by all!)

These were the yummiest (and cutiest) treats.  They are made like rice crispy treats except my mom used colorful trix cereal (instead or rice krispies), formed them into balls and stuck them on top of a jumbo pretzel stick.  Ava's got mysteriously smaller while she was distracted with the water balloons. 

I loved having all my family together these last few weeks.  It was. so. much. fun.  Thanks mom and dad for letting all of us hang out in your backyard for the last three weeks and for building the coolest giant sandbox ever to keep all the grandkids entertained in.  We love you!!
