how did this happen?

My littlest girl is starting kindergarten in a few months.  She took her paperwork oh so seriously and listened so intently to what each page said before she signed her A-V-A in her best handwriting with her pink sparkly pen.

"Will you keep your feet and hands to yourself?"

"YES!"

"Will you follow bus rules on your field trips?"

"YES!"

"Will you go to school everyday unless you are sick?"

"Oh YES!"

She can't wait.  I am putting on my happy face and pretending I'm excited for her new big adventure, but really I am so sad for me.  With Ashlyn I was a little sad when she started kindergarten, but it just seemed like we had all the time in the world before she would be finishing elementary school.  I think with your last child you realize just how quickly time passes.

And what will I do with all my free time?  Renovate a house?  Finish my grandpa's life story?  Start doing yoga?  Take on a few more design clients?

Oh yes, I've got lots of big plans...  But still, none of them sound anywhere near as fun as having my little buddy with me everywhere I go.  I think I'm going to need a puppy.
