at a spring dinner party.

I know it is a little after the matter and I am a total slow poke at getting things updated (what was that about being inundated with blog posts?!), but just in case you were curious, we did have quite a delightful little Easter!  Easter Egg hunts, holding newborn baby Lucy, lots of bubble blowing and being with our wonderful family made the day a happy one.

Our little place settings for dinner were tiny nests filled with little jelly bean eggs.  These would also be so perfect for any springtime birthday or dinner party, or even a baby shower.

The craft store had little nests for sale, but they were too expensive to buy one for every person, so instead I just picked up a bunch of those mini, mini grapevine wreaths and added a little of the straw-looking filler.  (I can't remember the name of it and I don't have the bag anymore--it's kind of a different name--but in our craft store it was near the bags of dried moss.  Let me just interject here: Don't use the dried moss!  It is super messy.  If you can find this other stuff, it is a lot better.)

Anyway, the store didn't have enough of those grapevine wreaths for everyone, so I pulled some of the dead vines off our fence and wove a few myself.  (I contemplated whether or not I should share that, because it makes me sound like such an overzealous crafter! but I'm just telling you because it seriously took like one minute to make each one--just winding the vine around itself to form a little "nest"--and was so easy that I just feel obligated to share!!

I always love the fail proof wrapping paper table covering.  After the party's over, I just pull the whole mess off and throw it away.  (And I'm sorry my pictures are so washed out--I tried editing them because they were so dark and clearly I do not know what I am doing.)

Lots of bubbles in the backyard.
Grandpa and I giving little Emmett a few hints.  Subtlety is one of our strong points.

I love seeing my cute parents with their little grandkids.  Marm was inside holding the little babe Lucy.

Lots of delicious loot.  That mysteriously disappeared two days later.

That was really mysterious.
