bringing spring indoors.
A couple weeks ago, Arcadian Lighting contacted me, asking if they could write a spring decorating post here on gillar girl. I happily said why yes, of course because:
1. I love reading their posts elsewhere on the world wide web--they always have such pretty pictures and practical design tips... and
2. I am totally in love with their white faux wood floor lamp (from one of the pictures below), which is just one of their many stylish light fixtures that I've got my eye on for our big reno project.
(But just to be clear, I am not receiving a white faux wood floor lamp for that little plug, unless of course, they want to send one to me, which no pressure or anything would be awesome.)
But for realsies, I want to give their writer Melanie a big thank you for sharing with us: Spring Inspired Interiors.
Spring is in the air. No, literally, this unusual living wall even smells of the season. Hang a light fixture that simulates daylight and let's call it a day?

Hardly!
Although this spring-inspired wall would be interesting, think about the upkeep. For a commercial space this might work wonders, but what about for a home?
How do you decorate for the season with style? Here are three easy tips from the pros:
1. Use natural elements to add a touch of color to shelving, tables or a bedside table. Fresh flowers, or even pictures of flowers, brings the outdoors in and brings life to any room.

A floor lamp or a light fixture made with bark or simulated wood adds interest and is a definite conversation piece.

2. Use punches of seasonal colors in your decor.

If you lean toward neutral color schemes for your home, this is the perfect time to display a treasured canvas with bright colors. Illuminate art with a warm glow from a lighting fixture and then use the colors from your artwork throughout your interior.

3. Pattern can bring a lot to the table (no pun intended,) and you don't only have to look at floral patterns. Think paisleys, plaids and polka dots in spring colors as well.

Change out bedding, drapery, table linens and pillows to bring a fresh outlook to any space. For a simple and monochromatic feel, keep it light and airy.

Whatever your style, make sure to keep your larger furniture pieces neutral for an easier transformation. Then you can welcome, not only spring, but any season!
