spring kitchen.

This morning it smelled like rain and flowers outside--a perfect spring morning.  The windows open, bacon cooking, us singing along with Coldplay's mellow tunes.  Ashlyn and Ava picked handfuls of purple lilacs and brought them inside, and now our house whole house smells like spring.  I put them in some white pitchers and set them on the kitchen counter, and it made me in the mood for freshening up my kitchen a little.  Do you ever get in the mood to rearrange things when the seasons change?  So this morning I feel like rearranging a few things in the kitchen, and I better act on it when the mood strikes, if you know what I mean.

So here are my notes to self (and Jimmy):  the tall pedestal bowl of green apples on the counter is quite lovely, and the metal awning hood I love, when I say I want 1940s lights over the island--those in that second picture are what I'm talking about (i think two would be perfect and we could easily replace the cans with those right?), maybe a bright little piece of art over the pantry door,  the row of three potted orange trees makes me wish I had a grove of orange trees in the backyard.  But I would happily take those three instead.
