i've got a plan.
Remember how on that list of projects I want to complete this year, there was the one that said "landscape herb garden + fire pit area"... Well, the first leg of that project is complete! And can you believe it, January isn't even over! Man, I'm awesome...
Actually it is Elle (who is my amazingly talented sister, who also happens to be a landscape designer) who is awesome. I gave her a few pictures of landscapes I liked, and asked to include a fire pit area somewhere if possible (I didn't think it was), and I am positively in love with what she came up with! I love her style and all her knowledge (she is the designer of many of the gardens at the Utah Botanical Center. What can I say she totally impresses me.) and is currently freelancing from home since she had her second little babe.
I am just SO happy that instead of wasting those first couple months of good weather trying to decide what to do in this space (which is what I have done for the last two years), we can just begin implementing it at the first sign of spring!
Thanks Elle! I lovelovelovelove it.

If any of you are interested in having a landscape plan done, you can contact Lacey (Elle Carmel Design) at elle9_28@yahoo.com.
And by the way, for those of you in other places beside the Salt Lake City area, she does do e-plans--you take the measurements + snap a few pictures of your space--and she'll come up with an amazing plan for you. I must say she has very reasonable rates... Of course, I did get the family discount. But even without, she's very reasonable!
