Once upon a time there was a boy who wanted to take guitar lessons. His mother, although supportive of this desire, insisted that he must first take a year of piano lessons.

This demand was not well received.

However, the boy was surprised to discover he actually liked playing the piano, and even wrote a song entitled "Time is Kinda Tickin." His mother was impressed. So piano lessons continued, and it was decided by his wise and ambitious sister that a bag should be constructed to carry his piano books to and fro. And so it was done (mostly on Christmas Eve day--hence the lack of pictures of Ashlyn making the bag. Between helping her with the bag and my harebrained potholder idea, there was no time for pictures!)

Loosely patterned after ava's dance bag, but we tried to make it as boyish as possible--it's made from a heavy-weight corduroy and has a frayed top. The strap widens at the bottom and is worn over the head and shoulder (slung across the body) and there is a boyish looking turtle.
