small town america.
something you should know
around here we celebrate all July long.
It all begins with Independence Day of course.
And then there are the week-long festivals in almost every city
with parades and movies in the park and fireworks.
And then there is Pioneer Day on the 24th
when we celebrate the Mormon Pioneers reaching the Salt Lake Valley.
So I really love July. What's not to love?
i love:
all the small town festivals.
feeling like I might start liking country music.
[there is something about watching rodeos and parades
that makes me want to live in a small town,
own chickens and wear cowboy boots.
it all just seems so wholesome and good.]

sitting in the shade of a sycamore-lined street watching a parade.
spreading out quilts in the front yard and watching the firework shows.
ava in serious contemplation over the clown.
more serious contemplating of the clown.
