And so the party brainstorming continues...  With three summer birthdays we can use lots and lots of inspiration!  And I am in love with all the ice cream ideas in this months InStyle.  I really wish we could do an ice cream bar like that first picture for Cam's birthday.  But reality is screaming in no way would that be a good idea...unless I had an assistant to hover dry ice over them to keep the dripping at bay.  And then once dry ice is involved, is there any point in the ice cream?  A crew of 9-year old boys and dry ice...all sorts of chaos might ensue. 

We would need a sturdy assistant.

So this year instead of the traditional birthday cakes or cupcakes or an ice cream bar, we are doing a little gourmet ice cream ball.  A big ice cream ball rolled in yummy toppings--we probably won't go so gourmet as the pistachios.  We may take it down a notch for a bunch of rambunctious 9-year old boys.  Cam was thinking more like butterfinger or oreo crumbles or some bright colorful sprinkles.  The perfect dessert for these hot summer birthdays.
