wishes

Sending wishes off with balloons has become my favorite part of the children's birthday parties. I've done it at each of their parties over the last year and regardless of the age, they LOVE it! At Ashlyn's pink party they deliberated very carefully over their wishes and then tied them onto their balloons. At Andy's party I had a balloon tied to each child's chair and asked what they wished for, then wrote it on their balloon with a sharpie. Some of the wishes included: a dolphin, fake butterflies, a turtle, to not fight anymore with brothers (so sweet--I'm guessing this must have been a discussion for new years resolutions at this little boys house :)Look at how excited they are watching their wishes float up, up, up. Watching, watching, watching. Hoping, hoping, hoping. Which brings me to: did you see that nie nie will be blogging again? I was so happy to read that--I discovered her blog a couple months before her accident and found it so lovely and happy and motivating. And the huge outpouring of faith and love after her accident was so touching and beautiful. I believe that is what brought her a miraculous recovery. So here's to wishes. Big and small. Butterflies and life.
