summer vacation: parte une

So we're home and we had a really great time, even in spite of missing my most favorite family tradition. Zions I still love you. Instead we went to the Oregon coast. A place that is: 1. mossy 2. misty 3. rain boots--necessity 4. swimsuits? uh yeah, I always pack one and have yet to wear one here 5. squeaky cheese 6. riverboat cruises 7. crazy wild (dare i say even frightening) on the 4th of july 8. perfect for bonfires 9. the garden of eden 10. starfish and sea ottersOregonians have c-r-a-z-y wild fireworks on the beach. CRAZY. I cannot emphasize that enough. I thought I was going to die from a fatal firework wound. Complete chaos with ginormous (like the professional ones) fireworks shooting off in every direction--except they were being shot off by NON PROFESSIONALS. Our boys (grown and small) were giddy. How Ava fell asleep in my arms while sitting through this craziness goes to show how completely sleep deprived my blissfully happy children were. Seriously sleep deprived. As in Cam slept in until 11:50 this morning and he went to bed at 8:00. Yowza.
