vintage inspirations

This morning I dressed ava in a darling little dress my mom made for ashlyn several years ago--from her chenille bathrobe. My mom is a total inspiration for charming vintage creations. So feeling inspired by ava's dress while I was out running errands today, I stopped in at a thrift store. Sometimes I'm just in the mood, you know. Sometimes I'm really not, and all I can think about is how itchy and dusty I feel. But today it was an in-the-mood day.

Lately, I have been much more conscious about not being wasteful (since filling up my car is really beginning to eat into my babysitting budget.) And please don't attribute this to every single follow-the-crowd magazine and catalog in the entire world having a little blurb about "how green they are" . . . so, so, SO very annoying to me.

No, I've just been trying to consolidate my errands and plan our meals better so we don't waste so much of our produce and meat, stuff like that. I figure my 30% conversion rate from purchased food to eaten food could be improved upon a little. Especially when it's served on this sweet little ditty I picked up today--for two whole dollars.
