You Can See the Floor
Order has been restored. Unbelievable, I know. I took the advice of a good friend and broke the frightful mess up into sections. Friday was downstairs. Weekend was fun. Monday was bathrooms and laundry. Today was vacuuming and decluttering upstairs. I think this will be my new way of doing things for awhile. I always have to change it up or I lose my motivation. So, I'm not doing "so many minutes" in each zone, yard, messiest room, any more . . . for now. I'm tackling things section by section; a section I typically could finish in a day. So far, I am totally motivated.Anyway, with things somewhat under control, I have resumed some of our normal activities. And so, here's our teach me mommy update for the week.
-read The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle
-drew very simple pictures of insects (ladybug, ant, bee, caterpillar, butterfly) and had Andy guess what they were
-described insect's characteristics & had Andy draw six legs on each bug I had drawn
-turned on some classical music and pretended he was a caterpillar, then a cocoon (wrapped in a blanket) & finally a bootiful butterfly (flew around house)
-sang Eensy Weensy Spider
-made caterpillar craft
-made marshmellow caterpillar treats (stuck on skewer with chocolate chips for eyes & spots)
-walked around yard searching for insects, found two BUMBLE bees (HUGE and frightening, that is huge and frightening to me--Andrew was fascinated) and many butterflies

Isn't it so great to be outside in the beautiful spring sunshine? Why yes, it is.
