the last day is right around the corner.
I know nothing extra is really required on the last day of school. After all, the greatest treat of all is not having to go back to school for ten weeks, right?! But still, I always like to do something a little special for the kids on their last day.
And in my mind, something special almost always equals some sort of yummy treat :), so it is usually a giant cookie or cupcake that is sitting there on the table, waiting for them to burst through the door. . . with their boxes and boxes of memorabilia.
Sidenote: I have made a rule for myself that by the time the sun sets on that last school day, those boxes of papers must be tackled. It is getting progressively harder to accomplish this since I now will have FOUR boxes to go through! But otherwise they just linger for weeks and weeks in piles on my counter tops. . .
So this week, I am getting excited about planning out summer workshop and summer adventures. I even stocked up on a few things for the workshop store today at Target--tons of good movies for only $5! For me, that's better than Redbox! (Since I am a delinquent returner of movies and library books.) Anyway, I got Benji, Nanny McPhee Returns, Ernest Goes to Camp (We thought those were SO hilarious when we were kids--are they really?! We shall see.), Flushed Away, Open Season and some magical Barbie one that Ava will be really, really excited to earn 25 dots for!
