the work has begun.

Work is underway on our house.  Oh you guys, I am so excited about it.  I feel like a hootin' and a hollerin'.  The last couple weeks we've been working on the attic, and it's just about complete. 

Now here's what we were looking at:

We love living in a smaller home but where do you store things like Christmas decorations?  And camping gear?  And what about those great estate sale finds?!

Basically we just needed an access big enough to fit a plastic bin through.  We also needed a floor laid down & some shelves built, so we could store all those things mentioned above.  And lastly, we needed a good spot to put an additional furnace (so we can have the upstairs floor run by a separate thermostat.)

This week we got the hole cut, the attic floor laid, and the shelves built.  Next week, we will hopefully have the furnace installed up there and the ladder staircase put in.

Jimmy & I have a fun weekend in store, of clearing the basement all out (to the now-useable attic), so we can be ready Monday morning for the next phase of the project to begin.  Which will be finishing the basement, and adding a little addition to the main floor.  It feels so good to finally be moving forward.
