the last year and a half.

Monday morning the renovation project on our home got underway. :) :) :)  In case you are just tuning in, and for those of you who have not been able to keep up with our ever-changing home story, here's a refresher. . .

OCTOBER 2010:

Sold the home we built in Farmington (trying to decide: should we build again on another piece of land we own in Farmington, OR should we move back to Salt Lake City???)

DECEMBER 2010:

Move to a rental home in Salt Lake City to see if we really do want to move back permanently, or if we are just feeling nostalgic.


APRIL 2011:
Love living back in the city, and decide to make it permanent.  Buy "Sycamore Home" with plans to do a major remodel, adding a second story, digging out the basement and lots more.

MAY 2011 through OCTOBER 2011:

Work on and revise plans for Sycamore Home remodel endlessly, wait for city approval.  Setback after setback after setback.  Very frustrating.

AUGUST 2011:

Since we have for sure decided to stay in Salt Lake City, we sell that piece of land we had in Farmington, for a partial cash payment + a condo in Bountiful.

MID OCTOBER 2011:

Since our lease is almost up and we now own a condo, we move out of our rental home in Salt Lake City to the condo in Bountiful (25 minutes away), while waiting to begin & finish major remodel on Sycamore House.

LATE OCTOBER 2011:

Decide remodel on Sycamore House is just not meant to work out for us!  List Sycamore house.  Receive offer on Sycamore House.

NOVEMBER 2011:

Make offer on "Yalecrest Home."  It already has second story and good basement height.  Bonus!  Has great potential, but still needs lots of work.

FEBRUARY 2012:

Sell condo in Bountiful.  Move in with parents for a few weeks.  Finally close on Yalecrest Home and move in!


APRIL 2012:
Begin renovations on Yalecrest Home.



After all this moving around, we are so excited to finally be starting!!
