a little bitty book.
My kids loooove writing books. It all begin with those Pirateology & Dragonology books. Those books are such great fuel for the imagination. Remember this? And that was just the tip of the iceberg, my friends! There were dragon-related drawings, books, forts and expeditions for weeks. . .
So something like these teeny tiny books (idea & picture by Rubyellen from Cakies) would be just their thing. I can think of a million different ways they would use them. . . A library full of books for their American Girl dolls. Or books to be left out for leprechauns--or fairies. Or a book for each letter of the alphabet.
Or one of the tasks in our summer workshop--I would have one of those clear IKEA jars full of the tiny books, so they could just grab one easily, and get illustrating and writing. (Over Spring Break, they were already talking about how they couldn't wait for summer workshop. It's a winner, I tell ya!)
If we don't use it in summer workshop, I plan on making a subtle suggestion about using it for a handmade sibling gift next Christmas.
