inspiration for a room for elnora. or ashlyn.

Ashlyn is really into observing birds and wildflowers lately; she has been reminding me of Elnora in Girl of the Limberlost...

So using that as our inspiration, we have started pulling colors and ideas to create a bedroom for a budding naturalist.  This adorable room, by Julia from the boo & the boy, reminds me of what we are going for--kind of a cottage-y, vintage-y, cozy feel.

Lots of framed vintage illustrations of birds and butterflies, with little touches of turquoise, mustard and raspberry.  Also some woodsy elements, like a worn painted wood paneled wall and some faux bois wallpaper or lampshades.  And, of course, some fabric garlands and pendants will probably be finding their way in as well!  You can see more of our inspirations on our girl of the limberlost pinterest board.
