the day of love approacheth.

 

Although February is typically full of gray skies around here, Valentine's Day always is a much anticipated event.  It's the last winter holiday--a bid farewell to the cold snowy season.  (We loved you snowy winter weather (two months ago), but it's time to move on.)  But not until we celebrate Valentine's Day first!  

I think my favorite memories of elementary school involve putting together my valentines cards each year--I remember sitting at the kitchen table with my sisters, finding the perfect conversation heart to go to the right person, crossing names off lists (yes it appears I was a list lover even back then.)  This year for the kids friends valentines, I think we may just make a simple frosted sugar cookie and put it in a little cellophane bag with a happy valentines day tag.  (Details are still in negotiations.) 

But regardless, I am thinking that I will put together a special little bag filled with little treasures, like those above from scissor variations, for each of my kids.
