teach me mommy ::: all about me
It was an all-about-me day for the last teach me mommy class we had. Ava and I talked about the day she was born, and how old she is now, the color of her hair, the color of her eyes, we measured and weighed her, and practiced writing her name. She lucked out with a name like A-V-A...
First we snuggled on the couch and read her favorite book. It's called All About Me and it's just a little book with pictures of her and all of us in there that my mom made for her on her first birthday. She is literally loving this little book to pieces. Lots of pieces! And we just keep taping it back together :)
She practiced tracing her name in lots of different colors, and made several signs with A-V-A written on them, then taped them to her things: to her bed, to her door, to her toy cupboard, etc.
And then on to her favorite part: the craft! We cut a birthday cake from pink cardstock and wrote her name and all her stats on it. Then she glued three paper candles and lots of blue "frosting" circles. And then on to my favorite part: a little snack made from some yogurt covered raisins shaped into A's. It was a fun hour celebrating my littlest girl :).
