i've got birthdays on the brain.

I love birthday banners and this one is especially cute how it looks like it's been made from paper from the recycling bin. And I always love the look of things pinned to a clothesline.

That love may have started in our little 1940 Sugarhouse home, with it's quaint little clothesline still standing in the backyard. Which worked out nicely because about six months after we moved in, our dryer suddenly stopped working. But it was okay, because I was perfectly happy out under the huge walnut tree hanging our laundry and gathering it up into the big sturdy green basket we picked up at some flea market . . . Of course we only had one child then.

So when I tell people (Jimmy) I want a tactful little clothesline discreetly installed somewhere in our backyard, they say it might not be so quaint and fun with the amount of laundry I do these days. But I totally don't believe them.
