an evening wherein we all ride a horse.

On the warmest evening of the year (thus far) we went to a mountain meadow and had a little horseback riding lesson. The horses name was Sampson and Josh was our very patient teacher. (Thank you Josh for walking us around in circles for an hour in the heat!) He is my sister Elle's husband--riding like he know what's up in the picture below. I, on the other hand, have never sat on a horse (without being bucked off.) So I was a little scared, but he and Elle taught us how to be with the horses and how to steer them and stop them, while their little Ty quietly sampled some dried up horse poop. (Just so you know, Lacey (Elle) does not condone this kind of snacking.)

The place we rode was so beautiful! And all of it's twenty plus acres are for sale! Unfortunately the price is a lot out of our price range, however that didn't stop me from finding the perfect spot for our house. . .

The kids loved every second, even though I have never ever seen Cam's eyes so big as when he first climbed up onto Sampson's back! And we have now gone from asking for a pet puppy, to asking for a pet horse.
