back to school soiree

I told you before how I wanted to have a special back to school soiree for the kids before they headed back to school. We had such a fun evening together. The kids "helped" make dessert and get the table all ready. We introduced our family theme which is "nurture your spirit," and discussed ways we nurture little plants and newborn babies and explained that our spirits need the same kind of care to grow and be strong. To finish off the night, they picked out their two favorite back to school outfits to show off for us as we blasted the Sundays "Summertime" for them to strike a pose to. Wow. They had some rad moves. (anyone singing surfing episode from backyardigans?)



Thanks for the wonderful idea nie nie. Speaking of which, a room somewhere, one of my favorite blogs (and probably yours too) is having an auction tomorrow in behalf of nie nie and her little family.
