the first half of 2011.
The new year is upon us, but before moving on, a quick little recap is in order...
In
January we were getting all settled into our rental house in our new
neighborhood. And discovering the huge upside to bunkbeds: Oh the
forts! The downside: changing sheets on that top bunk. Oh what a pain.
A quick trip to Southern California in February helped us get through the first half of the very long, long winter. Unfortunately, I got pneumonia while we were there. That was lame. But oh how we love the ocean. And don't forget the sand crabs. We are quite fond of those too.
In
March, it snowed and rained and rained and snowed, and we couldn't wait
for spring, so we brought in armfuls of branches from the apple trees
in the backyard and forced lots of pretty little blossoms.
In
April, we bought this cute little house and began designing a second
story addition and full remodel. . . for the next six months. . . and
then we sold it. . . Ah but wait, I'm getting ahead of myself...
In May, we played a lot of soccer. And refrained from combing our hair. This, my friends, is called a good, good life.
In June, Ashlyn graduated from
elementary school. Grandpa loved watching her sing and dance to the
music of the 1940's--it reminded him of those happy days with his
"little red headed sweetheart" (my grandma).
