a little robot.

 

We've been lucky so far this winter dodging all kinds of colds, but dang it!  Our luck has run out.  Strep throat and other yucky colds have been making their rounds this week.  So Andy has been getting in lots of snuggling time with the cute little robot Ashlyn made him this year for Christmas.  

She came up with the idea of the stuffed robot completely on her own (so perfect for him) and we kind of collaborated on how to make it a reality.  We sketched out a pattern on a brown grocery bag and after a couple tries found one we liked.  Then Ashlyn cut out all the pieces, sewed on the button eyes, stuffed it and sewed his side up.  She did a fabulous job and even learned how to do a blind stitch.  That's my girl!

   

And I think it's official, that after all these years, Andy's sock dog is no longer the top dog.  Now, it's the robot that comes to breakfast and watches cartoons every morning.
