the first gift of december.

Here is our little stack of advent calendars (our first "adventure" of December), waiting to be opened.  I can't believe how good the kids are at just eating the one little chocolate each day.  I have memories of these calendars when I was little, and for sure they were all eaten by the 5th.

My well documented sweet tooth appears to have been finely developed at a very early age. . .

So this picture here, shows a brilliant little gift wrap idea my friend came up with.

She assigned one roll of paper for each of her kids.  That way she doesn't have to tag anything, and she can keep track of their gifts easier.  So all of Ashlyn's gift will be wrapped in the bird paper, and all of Ava Carmel's will be wrapped in the glittler pink plaid, etc.

And now I have a very legitimate excuse to buy six perfectly coordinating wrapping papers!

Jimmy gets very bored with these kind of endeavors (spending thirty minutes looking at all the gift wrapping options), but Ashlyn. . . Ashlyn loves it.  Therefore, Jimmy is now fired as my Christmas shopping assistant.  I don't know how I'm going to tell him.  He's going to be so devastated.
