it was a good weekend. . .

. . . even though the wind was blowing something fierce non-stop. Which meant I didn't venture out to prune my grapevines and apple trees. Again.

But I did:

Watch the kids run and frolic on the grassy lawn of a park.
Go for a walk and explore a beautiful old building.
{with real transoms that you could open and shut. love.}
Clean out part of the basement
{actually jimmy did this.}

A
nd with all that new space, the kids have
formed a basement school.

The daily schedule consists of art. art.
and lots of recesses. no math.

{according to the daily schedule written on their chalkboard
propped up against the concrete wall}
Went to the circus. Hot dog.
The kids mouths were hanging open the entire night in pure astonishment at all the amazing feats.
real bears. and blue, pink and black poodles doing the can-can.
Hung out with my jimmy and had some
nice uninterrupted conversation.

{with the ice cream, the grass and the basement school we had a few more quiet moments than a normal weekend brings.
it was so nice!}

Made a chocolate cake for my favorite marm in the world.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
For teaching me how to have such a happy life.
