let it snow. times three.

A couple of years ago, we were in Jackson Hole on a family vacation hanging out in the antler park. You know the one--where all the entrances to the park have an arch of antlers over them. After suddenly realizing that I had four children I should have been keeping track of (sometimes I forget when I'm having a good time hanging out with my sisters and mom), I quickly glanced around the park only to see them running around holding sticks to their heads (antlers). It was pretty cute, and right then and there I decided that would make a really great Christmas card picture. Last year, I had big plans, but the weather didn't cooperate. Antlers just didn't feel right without snow. So last weekend, Ava was so cute in her holiday colors, the snow was falling. It was perfect. . . except that Ava has no patience for photography. We all tried to show her how fun it was (hence the above picture) and bribed her with "reindeer treats" (known to humans as trail mix) and she gave us a good twenty seconds of attempts, but she was holding them more like walrus tusks than reindeer antlers and so I decided even though she was perfectly adorable, the picture may cause some confusion to our dearly beloveds. Why is she posed like a walrus in a snowstorm? would be the lingering question. So here's to next years Christmas photo when Ava's arms will be a little longer and able to fit to the top of her head. In the meantime, I am praising the snow gods for all the glorious snow we are getting. Let it snow!
