hello. hello.

Why hello there little blog. 

I wish I had some wildly exciting reason why I was absent from you for the last couple months.  A transatlantic move to a little Gustavian cottage to escape my messy renovation?  The launch of an adorable paper party goods line?  A snuggly little newborn?

Nay, nay and nay.  Just your typical craziness with overseeing two big renovations (one mine, and one for a client), birthday parties, finishing up our design website, camping trips, back to school, you know, life in general. that have busied up every last free second of my time. 

But. 

Today I am sick.  Just trying to lay low so I can get over a little lingering bronchitis.  And, the silver lining of this little bronchial cloud. . .  I get to visit my beloved little blog today.  Oh I've missed it.  For me, blogging turns on a little ray of sunshine in my brain.

So by way of catching up:

1.  my kids all grew up.  it's true.  i am officially in a new phase of life. (and psst... remember how dreading i was about it all?  well, let me tell you... it is actually quite nice. and i didn't even shed one single tear.)  when 3:00 is here i am so happy to see all my little munchkins again.  but i did not realize how lovely it would be to have such a huge chunk of time all to myself again...  to clean a room and still have it be perfectly spotless two hours later when i walk back in, is downright shocking. in the most wonderful way.

2. the finish work and tile work began today on our basement renovation and tiny addition.  it is moving along and we are all so excited about it!

3. my favorite season is here. and i couldn't be happier!  today the sky is a brilliant blue, there is a cool breeze so i can leave the windows all open and there are even a few yellow leaves on our tree-lined street.  Ah autumn bliss.
