braided bracelets.

anyone who knows me, knows i am all for kids crafts around here.  but it is a rare moment when you find a kids craft that looks... truly wearable!  but these bracelets are really, real-life cute.

i'm planning on rounding up some rope (it will work for this and another project we were working on this weekend--window coverings :)  And then maybe I'll cut some older t-shirts into strips, so the girls and i can work on these while we are on our little 4th of July campout this week.

hopefully there won't be any wildfires where we are, as the entire state seems to be burning.  lately, every morning when i go out for my little run, i can smell that smoky campfire smell.

now that we live smack dab in the city, i'm not worried about our home burning (at least from a wildfire!), but i'll never forget those panicky moments of living on the hillside watching flames head down the mountain towards your home.  it is a terrifying feeling and my heart goes out to all those who have been evacuated.  you and the firefighters are in our prayers!
