a finished cottage.

Oh, I am so tired tonight.  I spent at least six hours in the car today, transporting kids to and fro.  Commuting is not my cup o' tea.  And we're only into the first two weeks!  How will I manage a few more months?!  The thought gives me serious depression and thoughts of home schooling.  But yikes, four kids home all day in this little place would probably make constant commuting seem like a serene mountainside picnic.

Yesterday the car got strangely quiet on the half-hour drive home from school, so I looked in the back seat to see what was causing this atypical behavior.  Cam, Andy and Ava were all totally zonked out.  It was sad and hilarious at the same time.  Oh our poor kids.  Sometimes we have some serious doubts about what we are putting them through--all this moving around over this last year.  Such nomads we've become.

So the other night we noticed a familiar house for sale, and we were super envious of the lucky people who will end up with this adorable cottage.  First of all, because it is so colorful and whimsical (and those are pretty much the exact wood floors we will be doing) and second of all, because it is all finished.  What a treat.  We recognized it as one of the homes featured in the spring Utah Style magazine.  If I remember right, the designer/home owner of this home used to design little boutique hotels all over Europe.  Now that sounds like one delightful job.

Don't you love that high bed with the little ladder?  I have that in my inspiration file for one of the girls beds.  And speaking of beds, I am now headed off to mine.  Sweet dreams.
