a little cozy fall decorating.

We've had our first layer of autumn up for a few weeks now--lots of fall colored leaves and pumpkins all around.

And usually I don't feel like decorating for Halloween until mid-October, but this year for some reason I just can't wait!  I think I might be even more excited about it than the kids.

Well, that may be a stretch.  They are really really excited.

I'm thinking of turning these summer treasure jars into jars from the lab of a mad scientist, adding a few mice, skulls and cobwebs.  I also found some black crows at the dollar store, so I got a whole flock!  I haven't decided for sure where those will go yet.  Maybe perched along my gallery of empty frames... I will be sure to take some pictures and actually post them (always the tricky part for me).  I think they will look frightfully delightful...

I thought these bird and wasp nests the kids found this summer were pretty
(the eggs are fake, in case you were worried :)

pretty orchid my sister gave me for my birthday, and some old bulbs i pulled out of the ground.
(sorry this cozy fall decorating post got a little sidetracked)
