backyard lunches.

Sometimes I get tired of eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.  Crazy I know.  Luckily, I have the blogging world to inspire me to get outside our typical lunchbox.  I really like reading about all the people who eat out of their garden and from their local farmers markets.  It totally inspires me.  So this week, we have been eating fresh, light, delicious lunches and dinners out on the back patio.

Things like risotto and corn on the cob with some good bread.  Or a loaf of jalapeno cheddar bread--from the bakery...  Every once in awhile I get the urge to learn how to make my own bread, but it usually disappears before I actually follow through.  One day I think it will come and stay.

Anyway, lots of fresh mango slices and a loaf of jalapeno cheddar bread topped with avocado slices was my favorite lunch this week.  We've also had handfuls of strawberries everyday since our strawberry patch is not being eaten by little creatures anymore.  (The trick is spreading your hair around the patch.  Thanks for the tip elle!  It sounds a little gross, but I figure it's our hair so no biggie.  Much better than lots of yucky chemicals.  I just clean out our hairbrush and put a few little pieces here and there.  It's worked amazingly well.)
