oh how i love a summer party.

With summer officially in the air, my mom (affectionately referred to as marm) hosted the most delightful school's out backyard party for all the littles. Invitations arrived last week in the mail--a pint-size puzzle the kids had to put together, with all the party details written on back . . .

And so the party countdown began (as I have instilled in my children a deep and abiding love for any sort of party. . . as you will see, it has carefully been passed down from generation to generation)

{and the party favors}

I loved the party favors marm made:
* oilcloth lunch bags for each child to take on summer outings and picnics.
* a checklist of summer things to do, like learn to do a roly-poly and cartwheel. wash and shine your bicycle. cover a shoebox to keep summer treasures in.
* lollipop flowers.

And so we've celebrated school's out and summers beginnings--now we just need it to stop raining and get nice and hot! And do you see where I get my love for party planning?!
