a winter table: part 2.
and continuing right along. . .
idea 3.
pear place cards
cost $8.00

A pretty pear makes a perfect place card. But first of all, make sure you buy pears that will stand up straight-ish. They don't look quite as lovely laying on their sides!
Next, type each guest's name in a modern font (andale mono is one of my faves). And while you're at it, add a space between each letter--it looks even prettier.
For this brunch we had a grown up table and a childrens table, so just for fun I typed the adults names in capital letters and the childrens names in lower case. Then I printed them off on a white cardstock, cut them out, taped them to a toothpick, stuck them in the pear and checked that right off my list. So easy.
Also the pears on the childrens table were those little tiny ones (so adorable!), and at the adult table they were just regular sized.
idea 4.
mix paper goods and glass
cost: $6.00
I don't mind using paper goods one bit for parties like this... As long as there is a little sparkle thrown in. Things like the glass stemware for the juice, the blown glass candlestick holders and the glass lantern dress up the paper goods just enough. (And I always like the clear plastic utensils too.)
It was a happy, happy morning filled with lots of yummy food, laughter, and apple nibbling.
We were laughing at Emmett, how he would take two bites and set the apple on the ground, wander around for awhile, come back and look so pleased to find an apple sitting on the ground. Pick it up take a few bites. Repeat 20 times.
Anyway, that's it. Our Christmas Morning Brunch. And now I hope you all have a wonderful New Years Eve~I am excited for 2011!
Get me a new calendar book and a sharpened pencil, I'm ready to make some lists!!!
