an easter pail. and an egg.
I have been kind of a (complete and total) slacker this year on springtime easter fun. Having a house for sale and having to show it every few days (not that I'm not thankful. i really am.) makes for a pretty boring mom. I still have not put out our little easter chicks or the faux easter eggs. We didn't have our special easter family home evening or make easter cookies.
However, we did color easter eggs yesterday evening. The one in the picture above is the one I made for ava. It is sitting in one of the easter pails we decoupaged--with some thrift-store storybook finds--a few weeks ago (this is the one ashlyn made.) Last weekend we planted little wheat kernels in the pails and now the grass is beginning to sprout. I love looking at their four homemade pails all lined up in a row, sprouting grass.
And I don't know why I am so in love with coloring easter eggs. They're just so pretty! Except for Cam's and Andy's. One color is just never enough. Oh no. Their eggs are dipped and dipped and redipped until they are a strange grayish brown. . . and then Cam and Andy are a little sad. Until I say "wow. those look like real dinosaur eggs."
And then all is right with the world.
And then all is right with the world.
