Up, Up and Away
When Ashlyn was turning two she kept saying she wanted balloons for her birthday--actually it was "boon" (just in case you were thinking wow, what an articulate two-year old.) So, everyone in the entire family brought balloons to her birthday party. . . and she was in heaven. . . almost literally, as there were so many she could have probably floated away. . . up to heaven.Ever since then on the night before each child's birthday, Jim & I will blow up a bunch of balloons and spread them around their bedroom floor. So when they wake up--yeah, balloons!!! Everywhere. . . for the next two weeks. . . dwindling away to nothing under couches, behind doors, under beds. . .
I'm not too crazy about that part, however they are so darn cute that I do it anyway. But here's an idea me and the kids could get equally excited about. (The theme for this little ones party was 99 Red Luft Balloons).
I think I just may try it at our next birthday, and after cake & ice cream we could let them all go at the same time--up, up and away. Exciting and efficient.
And by the way, if someone had said balloons and wedding in the same sentence, I think all I would be thinking was, wow that would be really lame. But I actually think it's really pretty and a little different too, which always makes me smile :)

I'm always entertained by your posts. good job gillar.
